SEWER REHAB NEAR MASS GENERAL HOSPITAL

Pipe Relining Eliminates Need To Dig Up Old Brick Sewer Near Hospital’s Entrance

Problem: Deteriorated and leaking brick sewer interceptor serving Massachusetts General Hospital and located in front of the ER entrance.

Solution: Quadex Lining System® (QLS) GeoKrete® was applied in areas where CIPP could not be performed due to headwalls and other obstructions. The versatile application options of QLS/GeoKrete allow the non-round sections of the interceptor to be fully restored when there was no other viable option. Traditional CIPP was installed in rounded sections of interceptor.

WATER TREATMENT PLANT REHAB

Water Treatment Facility Uses Structure Guard® – Water to Rehabilitate and Protect Flume and Weir

Problem: A Denver water treatment plant exhibited extreme corrosion and deterioration to assets critical to its operation. A flume had developed leaks, making it unsafe to walk due to pooling of excess water. Additionally, an overflow weir was so badly deteriorated, it could no longer function as designed. The plant needed an NSF-61 approved solution that would not only stop the leaks, but protect these assets from corrosion in an environment with extremely low pH levels.

Solution: After proper cleaning and surface preparation, an 80mil thick coating of Structure Guard – Water was applied, restoring performance and passing all post-installation testing, including a pull test of 780psi.
